Christie’s NY Auction Fetches $3.6M for 75.56 Carat Yellow Diamond Ring

The top lot in Christie’s New York Important Jewels auction held on October 20 fetched $3,609,000 for a 75.56 carat Fancy Vivid yellow cushion modified brilliant- diamond ring. The sale was within the $3-$4 million estimate for the piece with the total auction realizing more than $19.8 million.
Active online bidding was an important component of the sale, with clients participating from the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Hong Kong and throughout the United States.
In addition to the ring, top prices were also achieved (also within their pre-sale estimates) for some stand out color diamonds which include:
* An 18.8-carat marquise-cut D color diamond, mounted on a platinum ring flanked on either side by tapered baguette-cut diamonds sold for $1.45 million
* A 12.75-carat heart-shaped D color diamond mounted in white gold, is worn as a pendant attached to link neckchain sold for $965,000
* A 34.12-carat cushion-cut fancy yellow diamond mounted on a platinum and 18k gold ring flanked on each side by a bullet-shaped diamond sold for $725,000
